To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
Minimum of two years secretarial experience in a law firm (litigation experience would be advantageous but not essential)Strong organisational skills and enjoy collaborating with other team members in a fast-paced environment.Positive and enthusiastic in all that you do and willing to take on new things and challenge yourself.Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).Ability to liaise with a range of different stakeholders, including Partners, senior team members and clients.Self-motivation with the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.Strong attention to detail.Customer-centric approach.A proactive and flexible attitude.Your roleWe are seeking a motivated and experienced Legal Assistant to join our Litigation & Corporate Recovery Services practice group in a permanent, full-time or part-time (3 or 4 days a week) position. The group covers a range of legal services in the areas of banking and commercial litigation, corporate and personal insolvency, and financial services regulatory work representing local and national clients.
Working with leading Partners in their field, this role will primarily focus on providing secretarial and administrative support for two Partners. This work includes banking litigation, such as enforcement of mortgages and other securities, as well as general commercial, insolvency, and financial services regulatory work with a focus on regulatory investigations. Some of our clients include Australia's largest retail, commercial, and agribusiness banking and financial institutions. You will collaborate with other Secretaries, Paralegals, and Solicitors to service clients.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Preparation of documents and correspondenceFile maintenance – opening, closing and archiving files (electronic and physical filing)Secretarial/administrative support to multiple authorsAttending to telephone calls and enquiries (incoming and outgoing)Preparing bills, cheque requisitions and other accounts related mattersMaintaining databases and contact registers for fee earnersPreparation and collation of mail including scanning, faxing, and printingAbout GadensGadens is the only law firm to be recognised in AFR BOSS Magazine's Best Places to Work 2024, which ranks Australia and New Zealand's best workplaces across nine different industries.
