Legal Assistant, Civil Justice (VLA2 - V2AO3D) Job posted: 03/05/2024 Help deliver access to justice to the most vulnerable members of our community by joining our team in Civil Justice Salary based on experience, range: $59,877 - $76,425 plus super Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model About the role: We are seeking a highly motivated individual to provide legal administrative support services, including typing, data entry, file management, and client liaison. You will document client inquiries and provide referrals to specialists as necessary and provide information and referrals about Victoria Legal Aid's services. You will also update and maintain client database and case management system and schedule client appointments, including virtual and phone meetings. Additionally, you will assist with improving work practices and assist with financial administration tasks. This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country About you: As our ideal candidate, you will possess: Extensive knowledge as a Legal Assistant in a legal environment. Demonstrated skills to provide administrative support including excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight timelines. Demonstrated ability to provide client-focused services in a complex, confidential and sensitive environment. Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate easily with people from many backgrounds, including clients who are often people who are socially and economically disadvantaged, people with a disability or mental illness, children, the elderly and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Sound problem solving and decision-making skills to ensure that clients and other members of the public receive efficient and effective delivery of VLA services.
