Are you an experienced Legal Assistant with a strong background in billing and costing?Do you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring accuracy and compliance in legal costings?If so, our client needs your expertise and would love you to join their team. Supporting a well-versed sole practitioner who specialises in legal costings across various Australian jurisdictions.Our clientOur client is an expert costs lawyer who is well-versed in all relevant legislation, scales of costs, and case law to ensure entitlements are fully captured in an itemised bill. Drawing an accurate and compliant Bill of Costs is an art, and he is dedicated to mastering the varying recoverable costs by jurisdiction.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide high-level administrative support to a sole practitioner.Assist in preparing, filing, and serving itemised Bills of Costs.Ensure all professional costs and disbursements are accurately itemised.Liaise with clients, courts, and other legal professionals.Manage case files and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and scales of costs.Conduct legal research to support accurate costing in various jurisdictions.Handle billing inquiries and resolve any discrepancies.Manage dictation requirements.Ensure all online documents are correctly filled and appropriately allocated to matters.RequirementsProven experience as a Legal Assistant, particularly in billing and costing.Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Leap, Practice Evolve and the Microsoft suite.If you are a meticulous and motivated Legal Assistant looking to scale back and move to a part-time opportunity, we encourage you to apply.
