The Legal Practice Management team in the Corporate, Early Childhood and Youth Legal Branch provides high quality legal advice and services on a variety of matters as well as administrative support to the department's two legal branches. The team is responsible for legal coordination and reporting activities, budget management, procurement and staff movement functions and managing and maintaining divisional resources and databases. The successful candidate will work closely with the Practice Director to coordinate these functions and run our high performing legal practice.
We are looking for an APS 4 or APS 5 Legal Administration Officer/Paralegal to join our fast paced and friendly team.
Duties and Responsibilities As an APS Level 4 Legal Administration Officer/Paralegal, your responsibilities will include:
supporting the Practice Director and Senior Executive Lawyers and lower-level officers in managing the department's legal practicegeneral administrative support functions, such as printing, preparing binders, ordering stationery, organising meetings, preparing agendas and secretariat functionsassisting with the legal branches' recruitment activities and onboarding for new staffprocessing of invoicesassistance with financial reporting and other procurement functions as requiredmanagement of shared mailboxes, including appropriately allocating emails across the teamassistance with updating resources, databases and relevant documents across the legal practiceproviding support for the training conducted by or for the legal branches, including the Continuing Professional Development Programcoordinating responses to requests for input received by the team, including consulting with internal stakeholders to achieve an outcome.As an APS Level 5 Legal Administration Officer/Paralegal, your responsibilities will also include:
coordinating the legal branches' external recruitment rounds, organising the selection panel, liaising with internal stakeholders and providing effective onboarding support for new staffproviding finance, procurement and contract management support for the legal branchespreparing reports, including using data and statistics to help effectively support the legal practice's functionsmanaging and effectively maintaining divisional resources and databases, including effective maintenance of sensitive informationmanaging the roster, schedule and correspondence for training within the legal branches, such as the Continuing Professional Development Programproviding administrative support for the legal branches' business planning, including assistance with planning daysproviding support for lower-level officers within the team, including providing and overseeing training on key functions.How to Apply To apply for this position, please submit your application in our online recruitment system.
