About the Role
The Legal Administration Officer provides administrative support to the legal work and practice management of Ruah Legal Services. Core responsibilities include processing incoming and outgoing confidential legal correspondence and court documents, via post, email, fax and webform submission. The Legal Administration Officer also supports the work of the Telephone Advice Line, taking overflow calls on the intake line when volunteers are unavailable to answer, and managing warm referrals from legal and non-legal organisations. The role requires an empathetic non-judgmental attitude to people living with disadvantage and facing mental health challenges.
This is a full-time permanent position.
What we're looking for

Experience working with practice management software.
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Outlook and Word, and intermediate skills in Excel.
Excellent customer service skills including interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
An empathetic non-judgmental attitude to people living with disadvantage and facing mental health challenges.
Ability to exercise sound judgement, confidentiality, and sensitivity in the performance of duties.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative.
Willingness to be flexible and undertake a range of administrative duties.

Desirable

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of diversity and social inclusion- including gender, sexuality, disability, cultural, age, and linguistic diversity and Aboriginal culture.
Experience using ActionStep.
