We are looking for a changemaker to lead the strategic development and growth of our engagement and fundraising. You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of innovative strategies to drive sustainable growth in line with our new strategic plan.
This is a new position reporting directly to the CEO and will be based at Legacy House, West Perth and when required, other locations. You will be leading a small, experienced and passionate team in a supportive environment for a charity undertaking vital work for families in need, which is incredibly rewarding.
Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive engagement and fundraising strategy aligned with the charity's mission and goals. Lead, inspire, and manage a team comprising a Grant Writing Specialist, Content Creator, and Fundraising and Engagement Project Lead to deliver on key objectives. Identify and pursue opportunities to diversify funding streams, including individual giving, gifts in wills, capital raising campaigns, and corporate sponsorships. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the team. Oversee the planning and execution of major fundraising initiatives, including donor acquisition campaigns, recurring giving programs, gifts in wills, capital raising campaigns, and events. Establish and refine fundraising systems and processes to support the charity's growth and ensure efficient operations. Work alongside the CEO to develop relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and philanthropic organisations to secure funding and sponsorships. Monitor fundraising performance against goals, providing regular reporting and analysis to the CEO. 3. Community Engagement Lead initiatives to build meaningful connections with veterans' families and the wider community, ensuring they are informed and engaged with the charity's mission. Oversee the development and implementation of new volunteer and membership streams to broaden community participation and support. 4. Team Oversight and Development Support the team in achieving their individual and collective goals, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Ensure all team activities align with the charity's broader strategy and operational goals. Foster cross-functional collaboration to maximize the team's impact. 5. Business Systems Development Implement business systems to enable fundraising operations and ensure scalability as charity grows. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish tools and platforms that enhance donor management, reporting, and overall efficiency. Prioritise early focus on system development to create a strong foundation for future success. Develop all digital journeys for our audience and donors through a strategic CRM approach to measure engagement. 6. Website Development Work with an external agency to design and launch a new website for Legacy WA as a priority. Ensure the website effectively communicates the charity's mission, supports fundraising activities, and enhances engagement with stakeholders. Oversee the integration of tools and functionalities necessary for donor management and campaign visibility. 7. Communication and Marketing Work closely with the Content Creator to develop compelling campaigns, including social media, newsletters, and donor communications, to amplify the charity's reach and impact. Oversee brand consistency and messaging across all platforms and initiatives. Leverage storytelling to showcase the charity's impact and inspire stakeholders. Essential Qualifications and Experience Proven experience in fundraising roles that combine community engagement, or non-profit leadership roles. Demonstrated success in securing funding from diverse streams, including grants, individual giving, gifts in wills, and corporate sponsorships. Experience managing and developing teams, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. High proficiency in CRM systems and fundraising tools. Desirable Qualifications Familiarity with issues facing veterans and their families. Experience in event management and marketing. Knowledge of grant writing and reporting processes. Personal Attributes Passion for the mission of supporting veterans' families. Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach. Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Collaborative and approachable leadership style.
