Salary: Base Salary (Level B) $122,830 - $145,858 p.a. + 17% superannuation
About the Opportunity The School of Chemistry is seeking a Lecturer (Synthetic and Medicinal Chemistry) to undertake cutting-edge research in the areas of organic, biological, and medicinal chemistry and to support the research program of our Head of School Professor Peter Rutledge.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team spanning synthetic and medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, and protein biochemistry.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Be To: Perform high quality research in the areas of synthetic and medicinal chemistry.Train and support undergraduate and PhD research students in the lab.Prepare results and data for publication, assist with paper writing and publishing original work.Develop your research profile through presenting at conferences and seminars.Enhance a positive workplace culture and strategic direction of the School and University.About You The University values courage and creativity; openness and engagement; inclusion and diversity; and respect and integrity. A PhD in synthetic or medicinal chemistry or chemical biology with a track record of high-quality published research.Post-doctoral research experience in organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry and/or chemical biology.Demonstrated ability to conduct research independently under limited supervision.Experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities.Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively across a range of media and forums.Experience in research record keeping, disseminating research findings at group meetings and conferences, and writing up results for publication.The ability and a willingness to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to contribute to long-term research goals.Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience interacting with a variety of researchers and stakeholders.Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with proven capacity to pay attention to detail.A track record of publishing their research.Pre-employment Checks Your employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
