The School of Applied Psychology?currently has 50+ academic staff and multiple research fellows across three campuses (Mount Gravatt, Gold Coast and South Bank), whose teaching and research interests span counselling, suicidology, health services management, and psychology areas encompassing clinical, social, developmental, cognitive, forensic, health, organisational, and experimental domains.
Job Description The Lecturer, Psychology will commence with a Teaching and Research profile and will contribute to teaching, research, and scholarship excellence and engagement activities in the discipline of Psychology with a particular research emphasis in traffic psychology, road safety behaviours, or related area.
Key responsibilities of this position include: Fostering excellent student experiences, including through the delivery of innovative and effective teaching and learning.
Undertaking research that has measurable impact and the potential to attract and generate competitive research funding.
Developing meaningful and impactful partnerships with external stakeholders and the broader community to promote educational and research activities, enhance the student experience, and contribute to the reputation of the School.
This is a full time, fixed term (3 years) position.
The role is based at Griffith University Mt Gravatt campus; however, the successful candidate will be expected to do some teaching and/or other work as directed at other Griffith University campuses.
It is expected that the successful candidate will be available to attend campus in person as a normal requirement of the role.
Griffith University's campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level B range $110,464 - $131,180 per annum + 17% superannuation.
The total FTE package will be in the range $129,242 - $153,480 per annum.

You will also have: Possession of a PhD in Psychology, or significant progress towards completing a PhD.
Expertise in the discipline of psychology, and specifically the capacity to conduct research in traffic psychology, road safety behaviours, or a related area.
A track record and developing/established international reputation in research that has measurable impact on policy and/or practice, has the potential or demonstrated capacity to attract national competitive research and/or other funding, and can contribute to an area of strength in the School.
A track record of successful supervision of Honours and/or PhD students.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and a readiness to contribute to the School and the University.
