Position Overview
The instructor will lead one section of THEATRE 5210 Drafting & Modeling for Theatre. This course introduces students to digital drafting and modeling techniques with an emphasis on design for theatre production; exploration of CAD drafting in 2D and 3D as well as 3D modeling and rendering; enlisting different software applications and methods of integrating them.
Semester-long courses meet in person for 80 minutes per day, two sessions per week; specific meeting times vary by assignment.
Performance Objectives
Communicate and collaborate with faculty supervisor(s) to carry out course activities and objectives as outlined in an approved syllabus.
Lead all course meetings, communicate with enrolled students, grade assignments, and submit grades.
Support students' achievement of the following learning objectives:
Examine drafting and modeling techniques.
Understand and develop a facility for creating typical design drawings.
Explore and use modeling as a tool for creating and communicating dimensional and spatial design ideas.
Education and Experience Requirements
Required:
MFA in theatre or other comparable graduate degree.
Desired:
Teaching experience, preferably at the graduate level.
