The Lecturer in Nursing position provides an opportunity for the successful applicant to join our dynamic and committed team and contribute to the development of the Nursing courses.
Our Nursing courses are offered in a blended delivery that allows students to study online or on campus. UNE is an industry leader in the provision of lifelong learning for aspiring and registered nurses. Students consistently award UNE the maximum 5-star ratings for Overall Experience and Student Support in The Good Universities Guide.
The Bachelor of Nursing course on-campus and online modes have a particular emphasis on contemporary nursing practices, as well as Nursing in rural and remote communities. They are designed around an interactive learning approach to equip students for the challenge of being agents of change in the 21st century.
The role involves teaching students in Nursing courses, as well as engaging in service activities as part of a dynamic team of nursing academics. The role also provides opportunity for inter-professional and cross disciplinary collaboration within the School and across the university. This position may be required to travel to other UNE campuses.
About youTo be successful in this role, you will have:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with no conditions.A post graduate degree in an area of Nursing or health professional education.Demonstrated commitment to quality in higher education.High level oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.Demonstrated teaching ability and evidence of contributing to effective outcomes in nurse education.Demonstrated ability to effectively undertake unit coordination and teaching of undergraduate Nursing units.Willingness and capacity to contribute to School, Faculty and University activities related to student recruitment, pastoral care and to the enhancement of the environment for students.Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with interprofessional and cross disciplinary colleagues.About the SchoolThe School of Health within the Faculty of Medicine and Health offers undergraduate programs, as well as postgraduate coursework and research programs in Nursing, Community Services, Social Work, Counselling, Mental Health, Public Health (One Health) and Health Management. The School has full time and part time/casual academic staff, as well as casual facilitator staff that are involved in regional, state, national health and private organisations.
Nursing at UNE Armidale campus offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse Academic to join the Armidale Nursing team that provide practice-led innovative opportunities to online and on campus students across the Bachelor of Nursing courses.
