Your research will make a real-world impact, contributing to our legacy of quality studies and mentorship. In this role, you will shape the future of teaching to create the next generation of educators.
You will teach and lead courses and programs as a curriculum and pedagogy expert in at least one of the following areas: English, literacy, Maths, numeracy at primary or secondary level and/or senior secondary science as aligned with your area of expertise.
You will bring deep expertise in your teaching area, with a strong foundation in teaching performance assessments and classroom experience, complemented by the ability to engage in the scholarship of teaching.
You will: develop, deliver and coordinate courses or programs in teacher education in person and online; develop and maintain a strong research profile and contribute to developing research projects and initiatives; contribute to the developing and maintaining a research focus in education and collaborating with others to form research teams and secure project funding.
Additionally, you will be expected to work with other research teams and hone your skills in supervising research higher degree students. About you: We are seeking a candidate with exceptional subject matter expertise, pedagogical proficiency, and outstanding communication skills.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and learning, with a student-centered approach and a dedication to employing innovative and engaging teaching methods.
A highly motivated educator, you think creatively, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and thrive both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
You will possess: completion or near-completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing; effectiveness as a teacher, which is evidenced by: student feedback on teaching using valid instrument/s, peer review and/or student outcomes, and the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching; eligibility to gain Queensland College of Teacher (QCT) registration; evidence of research experience, including for example, refereed publications; participation in research teams; co-supervision of candidates for honours and higher degrees by research; membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies and community groups and/or in professional practice.
