About the opportunity
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Early Childhood Education, from birth to eight years in the School of Education as part of the College of Arts Law and Education.
The School of Education seeks an innovative educator-researcher with expertise in the field of Early Childhood Education (0-8).
The successful applicant will have the experience and expertise to deliver high quality content to the units in our Early Childhood Graduate Certificate and the early childhood proficiency of our Bachelor of Education (Primary).
The successful applicant will deliver programs in flexible, fully on-line, and face-to-face modes; contribute to the development of innovative methodologies and creative pedagogies for teaching Early Childhood Education (0-8) in the Tasmanian context and assist with administrative tasks to support the operation of the School of Education.
In building a research portfolio that contributes to the research productivity of the School of Education, the appointee will be expected to contribute his/her expertise to the intellectual life of the school, pursue external research funding, publish independently and collaboratively, supervise postgraduate students, and where appropriate, engage in consultancies and professional development.
In addition, the successful applicant will work with external partner and community groups to build the profile of Early Childhood Education in Tasmania.
What you'll do:
Make an effective and sustained contribution to the School of Education's strategic objective and operational responsibilities.
Undertake scholarly undergraduate coursework teaching of a high quality in blended, face-to-face, and online contexts.
Deliver innovative and high-quality learning materials for blended, online and/or face-to-face learning in a cycle of continuous improvement.
Lead a small team of support teaching staff where appropriate.
Undertake quality research of national standing, secure external competitive and other funding, publish research findings.
What we're looking for:
A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
Strong record in, and continuing commitment to, research that has achieved national and preferably international recognition and made notable contributions to the field of Early Childhood Education.
Experience and demonstrated achievement in university-level teaching and learning.
A record of contributing effectively to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, industry (where relevant) and wider community.
Current Working with Vulnerable People registration (or to be obtained).
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $150,759 comprising base salary within the range of $110,992 to $128,854 plus 17% superannuation.
