Lecturer in Christian Studies (Mandarin)
Job Description:We are seeking a faithful Christian, academically able in biblical and theological studies and with experience in pastoral ministry, who can help to develop and deliver courses in Mandarin at the PTC. This lecturer will also play a role in assisting those involved in cross-cultural ministry in the wider Presbyterian Church of Victoria.
As well as developing and delivering courses taught in Mandarin, the successful candidate will coordinate other lecturers in the Asian program, assist with student enrolment and engagement, advise on developing our Chinese-language collection in the library, and connect with the wider Chinese Christian community. The successful candidate will also participate as necessary in delivering other courses offered by the PTC.
Position Qualifications:The successful candidate will either be a minister in full standing with the Presbyterian Church of Australia or be willing to satisfy the requirements of the rules of the General Assembly of Australia relative to the reception of ministers from other churches. The successful candidate must embrace and actively promote the Reformed faith as embodied in the confessional standards of the Presbyterian Church of Australia.
Previous experience in academic teaching, academic administration, and curriculum design is desirable, as well as experience in pastoral ministry.
