About the RoleThe lecturer's primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities (PA) and Activities Related to Delivery (ARD).
In order to maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate.
Minimum RequirementsTo be successful in this role you must have at least 5 years' experience as a specialist teacher of literacy and numeracy with a substantial proven record of successful teaching and preferably have experience working with young adults. The successful applicant will have an understanding of the Australian Core Skills Framework, the ability to identify foundation skill gaps of students, sound digital literacy skills, and the ability to deliver and assess using digital technology with flexibility to deliver across various locations.
The applicant must have a relevant formal qualification (or equivalent). The appropriate qualification for a specialist adult language, literacy and numeracy teacher is a post-graduate teaching qualification with one of the following specialisations:
