About the Role
As a Lecturer in Engineering - Mechanical - Fitter, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of skilled tradespeople. We are seeking a dynamic professional with extensive industry experience to deliver high-quality education that reflects the latest trends in mechanical engineering. Your expertise will help students develop practical skills in fitting, assembly, maintenance, and the use of mechanical equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a strong commitment to student success, and the ability to adapt to evolving educational technologies.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging, practical, and theoretical instruction in Engineering Mechanical disciplines.Develop, review, and update course materials to align with current industry practices and standards.Assess student competencies in both workshop and classroom environments, ensuring adherence to ASQA standards.Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports diverse student needs and learning styles.Collaborate with colleagues to design innovative educational strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.Utilize e-learning platforms and technology to enhance the delivery of training programs.Maintain current industry knowledge through professional development and industry engagement.The successful candidate must have: Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in the Engineering Mechanical Fitter industry.Certificate IV in TAE40116 or higher and Trade Qualifications in Engineering Mechanical (minimum Certificate III).Experience in adult education delivery, with a proven ability to engage diverse learners.Strong knowledge of the MEM Training Package and contemporary industry trends.Technical expertise in mechanical trade work, including fitting, assembly, and maintenance of machinery.Proficiency in using information technology for educational delivery (e.g., spreadsheets, web-based learning platforms).Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and adapt to continuous change.Exceptional communication skills, with a focus on inclusive teaching methodologies.Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).
