About the Faculty: We are currently seeking expressions of interest for a variety of academic positions across the Faculty because we are building and expanding. The Faculty is guided by our commitment to creativity, collaboration, and inclusion as we seek and solve problems to improve life on earth.
At UNSW ADA, our diversity is our strength. We span over 60 subject areas - from media, education, construction, textiles, social work, languages, music – and much more. Organised across six Schools and multiple research centres, we support world-class facilities and strong industry engagement on our Kensington and Paddington campuses. We equip our students with the skills and experience to think creatively and critically and translate their knowledge and experience into exciting careers.
Why The Role Matters: UNSW is seeking an outstanding and inspiring educator in Landscape Architecture. We are tackling pressing environmental and societal challenges such as biodiversity loss, human-induced climate change, and spatial inequality so present in many of our cities globally. Candidates with knowledge and experience in urban ecology, designing for climate change, the material impacts of climate change, and the skills to assess climate change and landscape performance are encouraged.
Accountabilities: Demonstrate and continuously develop a well-defined teaching philosophy that inspires student learning and improves teaching and student experience. Initiate the development of emerging pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning with the support of more senior academics, including the development of applied methodologies for climate positive design and improved landscape performance outcomes (socially, environmentally, and economically). Coordinate courses and manage course administration such as Course Authority, including academic quality assurance. Assess student learning achievements and support students in postgraduate and undergraduate courses in line with UNSW policy. Maintain professional development in pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge, and deliver minimum professional accreditation requirements as determined by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects.
