About the team: Colin Biggers & Paisley has more than a century of property industry experience, giving us a unique understanding and knowledge that sets us apart from our competitors.
Our experience is in residential, industrial, rural, commercial and government projects, across all property asset classes, including retirement, aged care, agriculture, residential mixed use, hotels, office leasing, industrial leasing, shopping centres and infrastructure.
Our clients include, property developers, substantial property portfolio owners, government authorities and significant overseas corporate and government investors in the Australian real estate market, as well as individuals acquiring homes and investment properties.
About the role: This is an exciting opportunity for a leasing paralegal or leasing junior solicitor to work in an established national Property team in the area of leasing - commercial, industrial and retail.
File management of leasing matters (both acting for a lessor and acting for a lessee) Preparing first drafts of leases when acting for a lessor, including accurately assessing heads of agreement terms and incorporating into a draft lease Conducting standard online searches and enquiries relating to leasing matters Drafting correspondence Communicating with clients to receive instructions and to provide advice Finalising lease documents accurately and issuing for signing (via either hard copy or DocuSign) Liaising with banks/financial institutions as applicable for leasing matters (including, most commonly, regarding mortgagee consent to lease) Preparing PEXA workspaces as applicable and minimising or avoiding NSW LRS requisitions Diary management and end of month billing About you: 2 to 3 years' experience as a leasing paralegal or solicitor Excellent client service Strong knowledge of PEXA and Revenue NSW procedures Strong knowledge of NSW LRS Registrar General's Guidelines as pertains to leasing transactions High level of attention to detail Experience with a variety of leasing transactions (agreements for lease, assignments of lease, variations of lease, surrenders of lease) Demonstrated ability to review and assess lease requested amendments when acting for a lessor (highly desirable but not essential) Relevant qualifications (highly desirable but not essential) Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal and written skills Strong research and problem solving skills Ability to work under pressure, respond promptly and effectively to clients Knowledge and experience of Microsoft products, including Excel (but not essential) Knowledge of iManage or similar document management system Join the team: Our culture focuses on excellence without losing sight of work-life balance.
