About the Opportunity Shepparton Christian College is looking for a full-time Learning Support Teacher based in Shepparton, VIC. This role involves fostering the learning and development of students with diverse educational needs.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Developing, implementing, and reviewing Individual Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with classroom teachers and support staffUsing diverse and effective teaching strategies tailored to students with additional needsLiaising with classroom teachers, families, and therapists to support student learningPreparing lesson materials and planning engaging sessionsProviding meaningful assessment and feedback on student performance and progressMaintaining accurate student records and adhering to school policiesSupporting and engaging in co-curricular activities as neededUpholding Christian values and maintaining a professional standard of teachingParticipating in professional development to stay abreast of best practicesTo read the full position description, please click here.
Positions to commence Term 1, 2025 About You To be considered, you'll need a recognised teaching qualification and current VIT registration (or the ability to obtain). We're seeking a practising Christian with a strong faith, a collaborative and teachable approach, and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
We are seeking someone passionate about closing educational gaps for students who are behind learning milestones, with a commitment to developing and enhancing programmes aimed at achieving better outcomes. This role offers significant scope for implementation and growth for the right person willing to develop and enhance programmes aimed at achieving better outcomes for struggling students.
Additionally, the following skills and experience will be highly valued:
Qualifications in Learning Support or Special EducationExperience in developing and implementing IEPsProficiency in using technology to enhance learningStrong communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and parentsA mature Christian character with a commitment to a local church fellowshipWillingness to instil Christian values through the curriculumAs our ideal candidate, you will be a passionate Christian educator, committed to partnering with families and churches to offer Christ-centred education and inspire students through the integration of faith and learning.
