About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Teacher to become a valuable addition to our remarkable team at St Matthews Catholic School in Mudgee NSW. The Learning Support Teacher works closely with Support Teachers, Teacher's Aides and all staff in providing appropriate tier 1, 2 and 3 interventions for the students across the school.
The Learning Support Teacher's day is dynamic and full of varying responsibilities, some of which include (but not limited to):
Collaborate with the School Counsellor for holistic student support
Maintain accurate student profiles and data collection
Manage referrals to the Catholic Education Diocese
Ensure timely completion of funding applications
Coordinate disability provisions for assessments
Facilitate transitions and learning support for students
About You
The new Learning Support Teacher will enable teachers to make a meaningful impact through contemporary teaching experience, relevant qualifications and aligning with the following selection criteria:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and NESA accreditatiom
The ability to develop and foster positive and productive relationships with the students, staff and families in a complex and dynamic environment
Knowledge of and current contemporary learning practices in general, with evidence and/or willingness to engage in adaptive and agile learning environments
Effective teamwork and ability to contribute to a high functioning collaborative team environment within a PLT Framework, including the experience or capacity to work in learning support team
Excellent organisational and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff, students and families
An understanding of and commitment/support to the mission of Catholic Schools

St Matthew's Catholic School is a Kindergarten to Year 12 systemic Catholic school located in the beautiful and thriving township of Mudgee, NSW. The school has undergone unprecedented growth over the past 8 years, from 430 students in 2011 to an estimated enrolment of 1080 students in 2021. It was announced in July 2018 that the school would be moving to a multi-campus K-12 school, with the new Secondary Campus to be located on the corner of Bruce Rd and Broadhead Rd. As a result of the expansion, the school is searching for vibrant, enthusiastic and professional teachers who are excited about the challenge of learning and teaching in a dynamic and Christ-centred environment, and who believe they can play a significant role in supporting the school through this exciting next phase.
