Location ProfileFrankston Primary School was established in 1874 and currently has an enrolment of 253 students.
The school is adjacent to the Frankston Business District, providing convenient access to various community services conducive to authentic educational opportunities.
The school commenced a new School Strategic Plan 2023 - 2026, focusing on improving student learning outcomes in Numeracy and Writing and developing teacher practice.
Our school focuses on evidence-based practice, including building and embedding EDI (explicit direct instruction) as a core element of our instructional practice in literacy and numeracy.
Further focus areas include high-level responsive teaching strategies and embedding a rich data-informed PLC culture.
Teaching Teams at Frankston Primary School collaborate to review and analyze data weekly, informing curriculum planning and learning.
Each Team aims to build the capacity of teaching and student learning through effective PLC (Professional Learning Community) practice.
All teaching staff participate actively through our GROWTH Coaching, Peer Observation, and feedback model to support professional learning, which is integral in building classroom teacher capacity and improving student learning outcomes.

RoleThe position is from 9 am until 3.30 pm.
An education support class position will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines and school policy under supervision and direction.
This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.
An education support class position supports the educational services provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor.
Supervision of students can be required individually or in groups of up to 4 in controlled circumstances.
Certification and/or qualifications of up to three years can be required at this level.
A role at this range may include:
Specific support tasks to achieve outcomes, typically involving accountability for a single function.Assisting teachers within an educational program by undertaking specific support tasks or coordinating the support function.Supervised health and wellbeing support tasks or other specialised student/teacher support roles that require specific qualifications and/or training.Technical tasks that require a sound knowledge of basic technical and/or scientific principles.An education support class position initially will be limited to undertaking routine tasks under close supervision.
Work that carries some degree of independence will generally involve a limited number of tasks performed regularly where priorities are clear and procedures are well established.
ResponsibilitiesProvides routine support for teachers, including assisting with planning of student routines.Supports communication between teachers and parents.Communicates with teachers on routine matters related to students and/or other responsibilities.Provides basic physical care and wellbeing support for students.Communicates with students to support comprehension of basic tasks and information.Addresses immediate behavioral presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting.Provides basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting.Supports teachers in the coordination of educational programs independently or under minimal supervision.Provides medical intervention support to students, under specific conditions, with appropriate training and guidance.Provides specialised communication support for students and teachers in areas such as AUSLAN and braille.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience, and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
