Galilee Regional Catholic Primary SchoolWe are looking for a Learning Support Officer who can add to the positive culture of our school and support our students. The position has an FTE of 0.8 spread over five days a week or negotiated with the suitable candidate. Galilee Regional Catholic Primary School is a warm and friendly community. We want to give all our students the ability to access the curriculum, which our Learning Support Officer (LSO) team supports us with tremendously. They need to be able to demonstrate a high level of flexibility and adaptability to adjust to the changing needs of students and classes.
Galilee is situated close to the city in South Melbourne and has a current enrolment of 353 students.
As a Child Safe School, Galilee is committed to the safety and welfare of all students and complies with all aspects and legal obligations related to the standards. As such, the Child Safety Code of Conduct will need to be signed on employment.
Hours of work: 8.30-3pm
The successful applicant will be required to: liaise with the classroom teacher, the Learning Diversity Leader and other Learning Support Staffattend designated staff meetings, Program Support Group meetings, professional development and other relevant duties requested by the Principalwork within and contribute to a collaborative education environmentassist student learning through interventionsupport the learning of students with additional needs in the classroom, attending to adjustments in Personalised Learning Plansuse spreadsheets to track sessions with students for formal NCCD requirementshave a knowledge of types of disabilities such as ASD and ADHD, and appropriate strategies to develop personal, social and independent learning skillsassist with yard duties and various administrative tasks as requiredcomply with the school's Child Safety Policy, Code of Conduct and procedures relating to Child Safety.This position is for the 2025 school year.
Special Requirements Applicants should have obtained or be willing to undertake, Certificate III (or higher qualification) in Education Support and must hold a current Working With Children's Check.
