Canterbury Institute of Management – Sydney CBD NSWCanterbury Institute of Management (CIM) is an accredited Institute of Higher Education with campuses in Sydney, Melbourne, and Darwin.CIM is currently looking for a Learning Support Manager & Librarian to join our team on a full-time basis.The position of Learning Support Manager & Librarian at the Institute is responsible for the management of the Institute's library and delivery of information services and the implementation of learning support programs to transform the experience of all students at the Institute. As part of the academic and student support team, this position reports to the Dean. You will work closely with the Program Directors to achieve positive outcomes in this role.About the Role:The Learning Support Manager & Librarian has a broad range of responsibilities. These responsibilities include:Lead and manage the learning support & library team across multiple campuses.Provide students and staff with accurate information about library services and facilities.Maintain library resources and equipment and ensure that library systems and applications are used effectively.Develop effective working groups and processes, conduct meetings and group discussions.Develop and deliver learning support and academic writing tutorials.Provide recommendations to the Program Directors and Dean regarding development and acquisition of library resources.Process library loans and implement security procedures.Locate, retrieve and supply information resources either as part of inter-library loan or acquisition processes.Plan and participate in library promotional activities.Maintain good working relationships with suppliers, and quickly resolve any problems or issues.Catalogue/classification of resources.Maintain facilities for storage and display.Support the implementation of student mentoring programs at the Institute.Develop and implement evidenced-based strategies to support the diverse learning needs of students.Provide leading-practice insights and intelligence on the latest learning support strategies and methodologies, mentoring approaches and the development of academic literacies.Explore and initiate innovative prototypes and options employing digital delivery of student learning support.Analyse, interpret and curate knowledge, research and data to support leading practice, excellence and innovation in student learning support.Comply with CIM policies and procedures including matters related to Work, Health and Safety, and Equal Opportunity.Work collegially in a team environment.Other duties as required by the Dean.Full-time position with entitlements and competitive remuneration.Required Skills and Experience:Completion of relevant qualifications in library/information management with eligibility for membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.Experience in academic library management.Demonstrated knowledge of a range of scholarly information resources and the ability to access these resources regardless of format; and demonstrated knowledge of the processes required to obtain scholarly information resources (e.g. acquisitions) and to provide access to these resources (e.g. indexing, cataloguing).Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing with a wide variety of people and with cross-cultural sensitivity.Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate work group activities and work effectively within a team situation.Demonstrated ability to plan work outcomes and prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines.Demonstrated ability to work independently.Demonstrated computer skills especially with integrated Library Management Systems, database applications and the Microsoft suite of applications.Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures, and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.Demonstrated ability to lead and manage learning support initiatives and programs.Demonstrated excellence in the application of a range of evidence-based and contextualised approaches to student learning support.Highly-developed knowledge and skills in leading practice approaches to learning support, transition, mentoring and academic skills development.How to Apply:When applying you will need to:Attach a resume (maximum 3 pages).Attach a cover letter (maximum 2 pages) expressing how you meet the required skills and address any key knowledge and experience outlined for this role.
