School Overview Brinbeal Secondary College is one of the newest 7 - 12 Secondary Colleges in Melbourne's west. The school opened its doors to its first cohort of Year 7 students in 2024. Currently, the school has just under 200 Year 7 students and will add an additional Year 7 cohort each year until 2029. The school is situated in Melbourne's booming western growth corridor, approximately 23 kilometres from Melbourne CBD. Find out more via our website: Brinbeal Secondary College, Tarneit Role Learning Specialists will be highly skilled classroom practitioners who will spend the majority of their time in the classroom delivering high-quality teaching and learning. They will have a range of responsibilities related to their expertise, including teaching demonstration lessons, observing and providing feedback to other teachers, and facilitating school-based professional learning.
The Disability Inclusion Learning Specialist ensures students with additional needs are engaged in education and meeting their learning goals. They work collaboratively with the school's leadership, wellbeing staff, and allied health team.
Responsibilities Demonstrating high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice. Modelling exemplary classroom practice. Leading and modelling the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies. Providing professional learning, including developing processes for observation and feedback. Supervising and training student teachers and mentoring teachers. Providing expert advice about professional learning. Selection Criteria Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum. Demonstrated expertise in high impact teaching strategies. Exemplary ability to model assessment of student learning. Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to model behaviours consistent with Department values. Capacity in the area of Disability Inclusion. Who May Apply Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach in the specified curriculum area(s).
