About the role
Located in either Albany, Bunbury, Esperance or Perth and reporting to the Group HR Strategy and Employee Relations Manager, the Learning & Development Manager's accountabilities and functions will include undertaking the design, development, oversight, implementation and evaluation of learning and development programs and activities. They will be required to provide specialist advice to staff and leaders in relation to learning and development needs including operational and safety related training and competency verification.
The Learning & Development Manager will be responsible for managing of the day-to-day requirements of the Learning and Development function.
Key responsibilities and experience Relevant tertiary qualifications in Learning and Development and/or at least 3-5 years demonstrated experience in a Learning and Development field. Cert IV in Training and Assessment is desirable. Experience in an operational environment developing training needs analysis and competency frameworks. Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders. Demonstrated understanding of adult learning theory and practice. Demonstrated understanding of the Australian Qualifications Framework. Ability to manage multiple tasks daily and achieve objectives within set priorities and timeframes. Excellent project management and administrative skills with a strong attention to detail. Demonstrated skills in design, delivery, and evaluation of training programs. To be eligible for this role, applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Albany, Bunbury or Esperance and provide proof of Australian citizenship or permanent residency. The successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card and undergo a pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing.

The legislation enabling the merger of the ports, The Ports Legislation Amendment Act 2014, was given Royal Assent on 20 May 2014.
The merger of the previous three port authorities was initiated by a comprehensive review of Western Australia's ports commissioned in 2010. The scope of the review was to look at all matters concerning port operations, port governance and port performance to ensure that Western Australia's ports could continue to respond to the demands of the State's rapidly growing economy.
