Working in collaboration with academics and subject matter experts, the Learning Designer will provide best practice learning design expertise to coordinate and assist in the development of learning objects.The Learning Designer will also:Provide learning design expertise including the design of learning activities, assessment strategies, choosing appropriate distribution media, and designing student learning support strategies.Work with academics to translate curriculum into best practice online and blended learning and teaching for the benefit of students.Design and develop exemplary eLearning environments, activities and resources for strategically determined courses and topics, and developing best practice templates for adaptation across the University.About YouAs the successful Learning Designer, you will be required to learn and adapt within a fast-paced environment.
You will have excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, allowing you to prioritise tasks and support numerous courses across multiple disciplines.
Your strong oral communication and interpersonal skills will facilitate excellent negotiation and collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders.To be successful in this position, you will also demonstrate:Well-developed to high-level understanding of teaching and learning theory and practice, instructional design, educational evaluation, and the effective use of learning technologies in an educational context to support student learning outcomes - including the ability to develop and implement both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences, online and in person.Demonstrated ability in designing and developing learning environments using an institutional LMS (Canvas preferred), with proficiency in educational technologies, media tools, and the MS Office suite.The capacity to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, follow protocols, exercise initiative, and complete tasks independently.About the Learning and Teaching Innovation PortfolioThe Learning and Teaching Innovation Portfolio (LTI) is committed to enhancing the quality of learning and teaching through supporting research and innovation.
