About the Role:This position develops staff capability and capacity to lead and implement excellence in learning and teaching practice. The position supports the implementation of the Education Strategy and framework. The position provides expert guidance and support in implementing best and reflective practice to drive an organisational learning culture and deliver improved outcomes for students. The role contributes to establishing a standard for teacher practice, incubating innovation and the transfer of best practice across departments. The position creates trusted and valuable relationships and networks through coaching and facilitates collaboration between different areas of the organization. This position has an additional role in leading the development of the implementation, promotion, and review of communities of practice within Melbourne Polytechnic.
Duties:Facilitate ongoing and embedded professional development of teachers through coaching cycles.Provide guidance and support in implementing new course material or pedagogical practices.Work with departments to develop and improve the delivery of programs for improved student learning experiences.Initiate best practices and standards to assist individual teachers and teams to reflect and implement pedagogical approaches and resources to improve student outcomes.Promote cross-department collaboration and best practice.Work with teachers to find effective ways to deal with learning challenges in the classroom.Coordinate and lead cross-organizational projects to enhance course learning and teaching capability within the institute.A current Working With Children Check Card (Employee).A degree or diploma in education in VET together with substantial relevant experience.A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.A minimum of 5 years teaching experience in vocational education, foundation studies, or higher education.Significant experience in an educational leadership capacity within a teaching department.Experience in the implementation of new course material or pedagogical practices within the vocational education, foundation studies, or higher education areas.Demonstrated capacity for innovative thinking and creative approaches to delivery, including the use of a range of methodologies, including online, blended, and simulated learning environments.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of professional development programs to promote professional teaching practice.Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels, both autonomously and cooperatively as a team member.Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to liaise effectively with relevant internal and external stakeholder groups, including coaching approaches.Demonstrated expertise in managing a complex workload in a demanding environment.Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Anti-discrimination, Quality Assurance, and Continuous Improvement.Relevant experience in the delivery of an instructional coaching approach to facilitate teacher capability.How to Apply:Please submit the following documents for your application to be considered:
