About us The Western Australian Museum is a vibrant centre of inspiration, learning and enjoyment for everyone. It collaborates with people across Western Australia to share the stories and voices of diverse communities.
About the role The Learning and Engagement Officer's role is to develop, implement, and evaluate high-quality public programs, experiences, and resources relating to the WA Museum and in particular, the Museum of the Goldfields' exhibitions and collections, for a diverse audience including schools. The position assists the development of operational planning, and the training of all front-of-house staff.
About you We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual who is a creative thinker and who wants to make a difference. The successful applicant will be expected to:
Develop and deliver creative, innovative, and layered public and school programs, experiences, and interpretation. Develop programs in the context of museum exhibitions, collections, research, and expertise, for a diverse range of audiences. Work with the site's Regional Manager to develop community links which benefit public and school programs and development, and raise the profile of the museum within the region. Contribute to the development of Operational Plans, including for future exhibitions, and Audience Engagement programs. We require you to submit:
A current, comprehensive CV including the contact details of two referees. A statement of no more than three (3) A4 pages addressing the essential work-related requirements, providing relevant examples to support your claims: Relevant experience working in a museum, library, interpretation centre, gallery, performing arts, education sector or similar cultural heritage environment. Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery, and evaluation of creative and innovative programs, activities, and events which offer lifelong learning opportunities for varied ages and interests. Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision and to work well as part of a team, including an ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines. Demonstrated self-management skills, including time management, budgeting, and organisational skills. Eligibility to Apply To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid Work Visa (for fixed-term appointments), or be an Australian citizen, Permanent Resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.
A current (within six (6) months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department's Police Record Screening Policy.

A 'C'-Class Driver's Licence; A valid Working with Children Check. Pool Recruitment This Pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes.
