Learning and Development Officer - Aged Care Support the design and delivery of tailored online education for the aged and dementia care workforce Bring your aged care sector understanding, knowledge and experience Full-time, Fixed-Term till Dec 2026 based in Hobart About the opportunity We are seeking to appoint a Learning and Development Officer – Aged Care in the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre which is part of the College of Health and Medicine.
The Wicking Dementia Centre has been at the forefront of online dementia education since 2008 and has a number of large educational programs designed for the aged care workforce who are providing care to people living with dementia and their carers.
The Learning and Development Officer – Aged Care will support the development of online educational materials directly addressing aged care workforce needs, and actively engage in supporting an online Community of Practice and contributing to its growth.
The Learning and Development Officer – Aged Care is a role which would suit someone who is currently working in or has previously worked, in the aged care sector.
The successful candidate will bring their experience of the aged care sector and an understanding of online learning particularly for the aged and dementia care workforce.
What you'll do: Support the design and delivery of tailored online education for the aged and dementia care workforce Contribute to maintaining quality and relevance of online educational content for the aged and dementia care workforce, aligned with current policies and best practices.
Support a dynamic and self-sustaining online Community of Practice in dementia care.
Collaborate with sector experts, to ensure the development of a wide range of educational materials that address contemporary workforce challenges including material for Community of Practice such as discussion boards prompts, blogs and videos.
What we're looking for: Understanding of the aged care sector: knowledge of aged care policies and practices including dementia care.
Demonstrated understanding of the educational needs of the aged care workforce.
Ability to communicate in different formats to diverse audiences.
Ability to actively engage with the aged care sector and collaborate with peers.
Well-developed organisation and planning skills, combined with a proactive work ethic, attention to detail, ability to undertake tasks concurrently and capacity to use sound judgement to adapt to changing priorities to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $113,029 comprising base salary within the range of $89,091 to $96,606 plus 17% superannuation.
