As Learning and Development Manager at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, you will take responsibility for the coordination and execution of operational training for the hotel.
You will work closely with operational leaders to develop & lead on-the-job training in line with Fairmont Hotel Vancouver's standards of operation in order to take guest experience and colleague engagement to the next level.

Responsible for the coordination and execution of operational training for the hotelProvide ongoing coaching, feedback and guidance to departmental trainers and leaders to ensure consistent and quality on-the-job training is taking placeProvide support, development and mentorship of Departmental TrainersManage the implementation, upkeep, and execution of training checklists and follow up ensuring consistent high standards across all departmentsTrack and follow up with departments to ensure 100% completion of training checklists and plansWork with Operations to conduct needs analysis in line with LQA standards, and audit requirements, creating and conducting innovative micro training, standards of the day, and other focuses as requiredBe active in monitoring the operations, guest and external audit feedback, and ensure operational presence to observe, identify training needs, validate training and program implementation effectiveness.Work closely with the leadership team to audit standards, develop action plans to address issues and concerns identified from external & internal audits, and guest & colleague engagement feedback channelsFacilitate new hire onboarding, Train the Trainer and other corporate training programsPersonally welcome all new hires, be a trusted resource and ensure all new hire departmental orientations are effectively completed.Actively monitor onboarding experience, facilitate ongoing check-ins with new hires, providing feedback to trainers and leaders for effective communication and retentionCreatively promote and communicate service standards to keep the standards alive and ensure impactful deliveryCreate, communicate and maintain a monthly training calendarYour experience and skills include: Previous operational hospitality experience, minimum 2 years, is required – previous leadership experience is a strong assetProven communication and facilitation skillsComputer literacy and excellent skills with all Microsoft Windows applications requiredAbility to be independent with the ability to influence all levels of the organization; and drive key initiatives while working cohesively as part of a larger teamExceptionally organized, disciplined, proactive and innovativeProven experience with creating and executing full-cycle processesStrong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build strong relationships with peers and stakeholdersDriven and energetic self-starter who thrives on a challengeVisa Requirements:Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
