Location ProfileHampton Park Secondary College is a large multi-cultural learning community situated in southeast Metropolitan Melbourne. We currently have over 1200 students from over 60 cultural backgrounds and approximately 190 staff, comprising of Teaching and Educational Support staff. Selection CriteriaSC1 Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum. Ability to lead and manage the implementation of school priorities, and the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum.
SC2 Demonstrated ability to lead the planning and implementation of high impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs.
SC3 Demonstrated exemplary ability to monitor and assess student learning at a class, cohort, or whole-school level and use this data to lead improvement initiatives.
SC4 Demonstrated exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to lead collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the broader school community focused on student learning, agency, wellbeing, and engagement.
SC5 Demonstrated ability to model behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values and support colleagues to adopt these behaviours.
RoleLeading teachers will be highly skilled classroom practitioners and undertake leadership and management roles. Their role is to improve the skill, knowledge, and performance of the teaching workforce and enhance the curriculum program of the school.
ResponsibilitiesPlease note that this position will have a time allowance of 10 periods across a fortnightly timetable. General Responsibilities: All work aligns with achieving set targets of AIP / SIPModelling practice which includes learning walks, high visibility, high expectations of learning and behaviourEngage in coaching with Tim Harper (Coach / Consultant)Conduct regular coaching and reflective practice conversations with assigned leadership membersPerformance and development of relevant staffLead and support teachers to embed Berry Street Practices into their Teaching and Learning programOther duties as directed by the principal or their nomineeActively support Hampton Park Secondary College's vision, values, and the ongoing implementation of the College Annual Implementation Plan (AIP)Lead and model the ongoing embedding of high expectations within the learning communityDevelop and lead a whole school Numeracy Plan focused on the improvement of numeracy outcomes informed by data setsIn conjunction with the Leadership Team, support the development, ongoing implementation, and evaluation of the Teaching and Learning FrameworkWho May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
