Selection CriteriaSC1 Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the implementation of school priorities, and the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum.
SC2 Demonstrated ability to lead the planning and implementation of high impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs.
SC3 Demonstrated exemplary ability to monitor and assess student learning at a class, cohort or whole-school level and use this data to lead improvement initiatives.
SC4 Demonstrated exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the broader school community focused on student learning.
SC5 Demonstrated ability to model behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values and support colleagues to adopt these behaviours and attitudes.
RoleLeading teachers will be highly skilled classroom practitioners and undertake leadership and management roles commensurate with their salary range. The role of leading teachers is to improve the skill, knowledge and performance of the teaching workforce in a school or group of schools and to improve the curriculum program of a school.
ResponsibilitiesVision: To lead student agency in their learning programs by strengthening our assessment and feedback processes, enabling students to track and measure their growth.
This Leading Teacher will work with the School Improvement Team (SIT) and contribute to the development and delivery of the school's Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) and School Strategic Plan (SSP) goals and outcomes.
Strategic Leadership: Leads the school-wide implementation of rubrics, including self-assessment criteria for students.
Leads classroom level data collection and analysis.
Lead student tracking of their progress to enhance student agency.
Responsibilities: Upskill staff in embedding tools used to track growth in teaching and learning programs.
Develops and implements the school wide continuous reporting schedule for learning behaviours and assessments.
Leads the CAT Analysis team and staff professional learning in assessment and feedback.
Leads and mentors middle level leaders in developing their leadership capacity in leading the data driven cycle.
Annual review and reporting of the relationship between learner agency and student outcomes.
Supporting staff in developing appropriate learning goals for students that are data based.
Member of the School Improvement Team (SIT) and other relevant teams.
Other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
