Are you ready to take the lead on some of the most transformative programs in one of Australia's most vibrant cities? The City of Gold Coast is seeking a Strategic Portfolio Director to oversee a portfolio of high-impact initiatives, shaping the city's infrastructure, culture and community services.
This $4 billion portfolio of capital and operational programs is critical to delivering the city's strategic priorities. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be instrumental in driving outcomes that enhance the Gold Coast way of life.
The Role As the Strategic Portfolio Director , you will:
Lead 10 high-profile programs spanning infrastructure, eco-tourism, cultural development and organisational transformation. Oversee governance, risk and reporting frameworks to ensure seamless program delivery. Foster collaboration across diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, private partners and community groups. Champion innovation, efficiency and accountability in all aspects of program management. Inspire high-performing teams and support a culture of respect, care and excellence. About You You are a visionary leader with a track record of delivering large, complex initiatives across portfolio, program and project levels. Your strengths lie in governance, stakeholder collaboration and strategic decision-making. You excel at simplifying complexity, driving outcomes and inspiring teams to achieve ambitious goals.
Key Qualifications and Skills: Extensive experience managing high-value portfolios, with strong governance and risk management expertise. Exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills. Expertise in program delivery, including contracting, procurement and reporting. A Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business or a related field. Why Join City of Gold Coast?
