The Position The position will be responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of activities associated with the Wagirra Trail and undertaking on-ground works associated with AlburyCity's Natural Areas network. It will be responsible for the hands-on supervision, leading, and mentoring of the Wagirra Aboriginal team. The team is an AlburyCity initiative, which links Council's commitment to the employment of Aboriginal people to various projects across the municipality. The teams' projects are about connecting the community with a variety of experiences along the Murray River and Albury's Natural Area network, including reserves, trails, and interpretative activities.

Qualifications & experience TAFE or tertiary qualification in Natural Resource Management or Civil Construction or related discipline or relevant work experience Class C (standard) drivers' licence (compulsory to have and maintain) Relevant Natural Resource Management and/or Construction industry experience Relevant experience in a supervisory position Engaging with internal and external stakeholders Tasks & responsibilities Undertake all employee management activities relevant to the role, including recruitment, performance management and reviews, employee development, disciplinary action, rostering and timesheets, as well as ensuring a high level of employee motivation and team harmony. Coordinate the construction and ongoing maintenance activities associated with the Wagirra Trail and Albury's Natural Areas to ensure the most effective outcomes are achieved for AlburyCity and the Aboriginal community. Foster ongoing relationships with the Albury Aboriginal community. Assist in identifying, developing, and coordinating projects and preparing designs for the maintenance, protection, and rehabilitation of natural areas. Provide advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders in an informed and professional manner. Hours Based on a 38-hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity's RDO guidelines.
