As a Leading Hand, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our fleet of vehicles. You will lead a team of workshop personnel and apprentices, reporting to the Workshop Supervisor. This role is based at Huntly Mine Site. About the role: Provide and maintain a workplace, plant, and system of work so that all employees & contractors are not exposed to hazards Provide information, instruction, and training for all employees, as is necessary to enable them to perform their work in a safe manner Ensure a process of inspections for all working places are carried out on every shift that work occurs, with a record kept of these inspections Actively participate in the use and improvement of CHC's systems and processes Demonstrate, implement, and influence safe work practices and behaviors Build a high performing and strong safety culture throughout the crew Set, Review and measure IMS performance within your department Ensure you are familiar with control of hazards from resources in your workplace and identify training needs to ensure optimum worker competency Ensure that workers report injuries, incidents, near misses and hazards promptly and in accordance with the prescribed CHC procedures Provide support and assistance to the Site Supervisor Be a mentor to the team, providing support to your peers Serve as a link between subordinates and the project management team Provide leave relief to the Supervisor, adhering to required duties of that role Operate Mobile Equipment within manufacturers and CHC operating guidelines Complete documented equipment inspections following established procedures Only operate equipment where authorisation has been given Participate in CHC training and up-skilling programs Ensure mobile equipment is safe prior to operating Carry out basic measurements and calculations Carry out housekeeping duties – maintaining a clean and tidy workstation About you: Previous experience with CAT Proven mechanic knowledge Trade qualified in HD Mechanics Experience with earthworks operations Current Australian driver's license High regard for health and safety Ability to pass pre-employment medical & drug and alcohol screening You will bring experience, reliability and a good attitude to work every day Why You'll Love Working With Us: Full-time gig Sweet pay + perks to keep you motivated!
