Due to ongoing growth in the business, they are looking for a technically skilled & experienced Workshop Leading Hand / Diesel Mechanic to join their Brisbane branch.
The team is required to deliver the timely servicing and repair of clients' heavy equipment, with the highest standard of workmanship.
The Position...
The position of Leading Hand / Heavy Diesel Mechanic is a hands on role in a busy workshop environment, where you will be responsible for supervising and leading a team of workshop staff, who are tasked with performing routine maintenance, servicing and repair of customer heavy equipment to ensure their optimal operation.
To be successful in this role, you will be trade qualified as a Diesel Mechanic / Fitter and will have extensive trade experience in the construction equipment sector (or similar industry), with the ability to effectively communicate with equipment owners, customers and staff.
The Ideal Candidate… The ideal candidate will have the following: Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Fitter (or equivalent) Minimum 3-4 years' experience in a leading hand role Competent fault-finding skills, and the ability to read service-related drawings Sound knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems A positive attitude and pride in workmanship, appearance and paperwork Strong leadership skills and have the ability to build a great team environment Ability to efficiently manage workshop procedures and workflow A team player with excellent communication skills (both verbal & written) Good organisation and time management skills Proficient paperwork and record keeping Excellent relationship management skills to nurture relationships with staff and customers Valid Australian driver's licence & provide evidence of any additional qualifications or other current licenses A willingness to participate in product and company training when it becomes available A professional and tidy approach to tasks, communication and company facilities Benefits… The company is offering a permanent role with an exceptional hourly rate , commensurate with experience & skills.
