Leading Hand Carpenter / Site Supervisor NDK Constructions, a leading small building company specialising in general insurance work, residential builds, minor and major refurbishments, and commercial fitouts, is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Leading Hand Carpenter / Site Supervisor to join our team.

Summary of Role
In this role, you will partake in construction related works for the business.
This includes performing carpentry or other labourer duties on-site and following specific plans or guidelines.
You will, at times, be expected to oversee and co-ordinate the daily operations of a worksite to ensure a high level of performance.
The role requires you to be diligent, and always ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities/Duties:
Oversee and participate in various carpentry tasks, such as framing, formwork, roofing, flooring, cabinetry, and finishing work.
Interpret construction drawings and specifications to guide the team in accurate and precise execution of carpentry tasks.
Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards throughout all projects.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades to ensure the availability of materials and seamless project workflow.
Conduct regular inspections to identify any defects or issues, taking proactive measures to rectify them promptly.
Monitor project progress, maintain accurate records of materials used, and provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
Contribute ideas and suggestions for process improvements, cost-efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Assist in managing projects to ensure deliverables are met on time and on budget.
Complete daily reports of job progress, description and upload photo evidence via email or WhatsApp.
Prepare the site area including delivering materials, using required equipment and/or tools, facilitating site clean-up, etc.
Undertake any required safety checks on-site, where required.
In this role, you are expected to:
Maintain a safe, clean worksite environment.
Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in the work you perform and oversee.
Display essential duties including physical strength, stamina, effective communication, attention to safety, teamwork, and the ability to follow instructions.
Be a team player and help in all areas.
Lead by example; demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow, efficiency and productivity, and strong work ethic.
Be an ambassador for the business by providing outstanding client service, and by being well presented and groomed.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Carpenter.
Trade certifications or relevant qualifications in carpentry or a related field.
Strong leadership skills and experience leading a team of tradespeople.
In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and construction practices, with a focus on insurance repairs, residential construction, or commercial fitouts.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical documents.
Solid understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, insurance assessors, and subcontractors.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and exceeding client expectations.
Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges and adapt to evolving project requirements.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
