This job advertisement is for a Leading Hand Carpenter position with a multi-award-winning, family-run residential builder. The role involves working on project home residential builds and requires a proactive and passionate approach to construction and residential homebuilding.
Role And Responsibilities
Title: Leading Hand Carpenter Location: Padstow area Reporting to: Head of Construction
Key Responsibilities :
Complete general maintenance to the satisfaction of defect lists. Support day-to-day operations of construction sites alongside the relevant Site Supervisor. Ensure all work is carried out safely, within budget, and to a high standard. Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all workers comply with health and safety regulations. Lead a small team of carpenters, apprentices, and labourers to carry out all aspects of residential carpentry. Liaise with subcontractors. Work with the project manager to ensure materials and orders are correct and available. Perform internal and external set out with the builder and subcontractors. Manage apprentices and subcontractors to ensure they fulfill their roles and responsibilities. Monitor apprentices and subcontractors regarding the quality and quantity of work to ensure compliance and efficiency. Ensure compliance with all applicable scope of works, specifications, standards, and codes.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum of 2 years' experience in carpentry working on residential build projects. Cert III carpentry qualification. Positive and driven attitude. Team player. Full NSW driving license.
