About the roleWe are seeking an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join our dynamic team at DJ Homes in Canberra, ACT. As a full-time Leading Hand Carpenter, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing high-quality carpentry work for our residential construction projects.
What you'll be doing Supervise and mentor a team of carpenters to ensure efficient and effective delivery of projectsCollaborate with the project manager and foreman to understand requirements and deliver exceptional workEnsure adherence to safety protocols and quality standardsAssist in the procurement of materials and manage inventory levelsProvide on-site training and guidance to less experienced team membersWhat we're looking for Experience as a Leading Hand Carpenter or equivalent role in the residential construction industryDemonstrate expertise in carpentry, with a strong understanding of residential construction techniques and materialsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to overcome challenges on-siteProficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering plans in conjunction with selection schedulesStrong leadership and mentoring skills to effectively manage a teamExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with subcontractors and team membersCommitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environmentWhat we offerAt DJ Homes, we are committed to providing our employees with a supportive and rewarding work environment.
