The general manager has developed a positive, encouraging and supportive work environment for an ever-growing team that contribute daily to improving production across the orchard and nursery.
As part of this business, you will be given a chance to learn, grow and develop your skills in people and process management whilst contributing to the ongoing improvement of the current Orchard operations.
The role itself? Reporting directly to the Orchard Operations Manager, the successful person will need to:
Under the direction of the farm manager, schedule work on the farm Work with, supervise and instruct labour teams to carry out farm work processes Operate all farm machinery Liaise with farm manager and farm staff to monitor crops Prepare and implement maintenance schedules for farm structures and equipment Construct and maintain irrigation systems Implement workplace health and safety procedures Perform duties assigned to farm hands Prioritise workload in order to achieve production KPI's & quality targets Monitor & treat pest and diseases Implement integrated pest management program as required Weekly involvement in a leadership meeting on progress of the farm program, along with any issues Develop and maintain clear communication with the farm team Raise farm infrastructure maintenance issues as they arise Follow company OHS rules and regulations What kind of person will fit the role? To be considered for this position:
+3 years experience in a farm hand, farm supervisor or equivalent position A person with experience in tree crop production Current driver's license MR or HR license beneficial Commercial Spray Operator experience, Chemcert accreditation; High Risk Work License – Forklift Operation A person with strong accuracy, attention to detail and analytical skills A person with Australian residency and/or long-term working VISA How will you be rewarded?
