The role is a Leadership 2 position.The successful applicant will be registered with the New South Wales Educational Standards Authority (NESA) and be accredited as a Proficient or an Experienced Teacher. The teacher will lead a team of highly competent, experienced and enthusiastic staff. This is a Senior Position at the College and the successful applicant would be accountable to the College Headmaster through the Deputy Headmaster and Director of Teaching and Learning 7-12. The successful applicant would be a teacher with teaching experience and qualifications suitable for such a leadership role.Wollondilly is a co-educational Christian College operated by the Anglican Schools Corporation. It is a Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 co-educational College located in pleasant rural surroundings at Tahmoor, about 60 minutes from Sydney's CBD. They will also have a well-developed understanding of the day-to-day running of the wider Faculty and the organisational roles within it. The Science Leader of learning will be responsible for driving high academic outcomes within the HSC Science Subjects.Personal skills, attributes and expectations:It is expected that the Science Coordinator will:Be an active Christian who is involved in a local church and able to contribute to the Christian culture of the College (Devotions, Chapel, Prayer, worship, Christian Studies)Hold a current Working with Children CheckBe an exemplary teacher, with an understanding of evidence based approaches to teaching and learning including explicit instructionFoster staff cooperation and commitmentExercise leadership with integrity, loyalty and honestyDemonstrate a thorough understanding of relevant NESA Syllabi related to the Science areas in Stages 4, 5 and 6Have a depth of knowledge and experience in teaching, marking and providing feedback at a Stage 6 levelDisplay high levels of organisational and communication skillsBe committed to collaboration across all levels within the College communityBe committed to the use of educational technology in the classroom and beyondAreas of responsibility:Leadership of the Science team including recommendations for staff development and professional learningAssume the role of Director of Teaching and Learning 7-12 if requiredAttend Senior Management meetings and College events including some evenings, weekends and non-term time activities as requiredContribute to the organisation of a whole College activity as determined by the HeadmasterAdministrationCoordinate the day-to-day management and leadership of the Science FacultyPreparation and completion of regulatory documentationOversight of Programming and the development of the Science subjects Stages 4, 5 and 6 in line with NESA requirementsManagement of the Science Student ReportsManagement of the Science Budgets and resourcesOther Teaching and LearningExemplary classroom teachingDevelopment and monitoring of the differentiated curriculum for all Science coursesCoordinate and chair faculty meetingsOversee quality assessment practices within the facultyCommunicationEffective communication of and advocacy for Executive decisionsStrong personal presence at College community events and staff functionsOtherDemonstrate a willingness to attend expected College eventsDemonstrate a willingness to contribute to co-curricular College activities.
