Leader of Learning - English (Head of Faculty) Wollondilly Anglican College – Tahmoor NSW
The College Headmaster is inviting applications from exemplary English Teachers who are active Christians for the position of Leader of Learning - English. The Leader of Learning - English is the Head of the English Faculty. The position will be offered at a Leadership 2 level of responsibility and remuneration. The role will commence in term 1 2025.
The successful applicant will be registered with the New South Wales Educational Standards (NESA) and be accredited as a Proficient or an Experienced Teacher. The teacher will lead a team of highly competent, experienced and enthusiastic staff. This is a Senior Position at the College and the successful applicant would be accountable to the College Headmaster through the Head of Senior Years and Director of Teaching and Learning 7-12. The successful applicant would be a teacher with teaching experience and qualifications suitable for such a leadership role.
Wollondilly is a co-educational Christian College operated by the Anglican Schools Corporation. It is a Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 co-educational College located in pleasant rural surroundings at Tahmoor, about 60 minutes from Sydney's CBD. The College strives for educational excellence in a Christian context and includes modern, permanent, air-conditioned buildings. The Leader of Learning - English will largely be responsible for the development of Teaching and Learning within the English subject area along with administrative duties associated with the role. They will also have a well-developed understanding of the day-to-day running of the wider Faculty and the organisational roles within it.

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) English Syllabus in Stages 4, 5 and 6 and have had experience programming these.
Have a depth of knowledge and experience in teaching and marking Stage 6 English, preferably at the Advanced and Extension levels.
Display high levels of organisational and communication skills.
Be committed to collaboration across all levels within the College community.
Be committed to the use of educational technology in the classroom and beyond.
Areas of responsibility:
Leadership of the English team including recommendations for staff development and professional learning.
Assume the role of Director of Teaching and Learning 7-12 if required.
Attend Senior Management meetings and College events including some evenings, weekends and non-term time activities as required.
Work with the Director of Teaching and Learning 7-12 in developing the College Educational Framework within the English Learning Area.
Develop and advocate for the importance of Literacy Strategies within the broader College community.
Coordinate and drive the Debating and Public Speaking Programs within the College including inter-school competitions and the hosting of events.
Administration:
Coordinate the day-to-day management and leadership of the English Faculty.
Preparation and completion of regulatory documentation.
Programming and development of the English subjects Stages 4, 5 and 6 in line with NESA requirements.
Management of the English student reports.
Management of the English Budgets and resources.
Other Teaching and Learning:
Exemplary classroom teaching.
Development and monitoring of the differentiated curriculum for all English courses.
Coordinate and chair faculty meetings.
Oversee quality assessment practices within the faculty.
Contribute to the broad development of Literacy in the College.
Communication:
Effective communication of and advocacy for Executive decisions.
Strong personal presence at College community events and staff functions.
Other:
Demonstrate a willingness to attend expected College events.
Demonstrate a willingness to contribute to co-curricular College activities. This will involve hours outside of the regular College day.
Other duties as required by the Headmaster.
