Job Purpose: As a Lead in UX Research, you will manage a team to understand user behaviors, needs, and motivations. You will also deliver research as an individual contributor, representing UX research to various audiences. Your high level of research input will be crucial for peers, managers, and executives.
Reporting to the Director , this is a permanent full-time role to be based in Sydney with the possibility of combined home/office-based arrangements to have flexible work-life balance.
Responsibilities: Managing a team to plan and conduct research, analyze findings, and inspire ownership of results
Crafting broader research aligned to OKRs and UX Roadmap
Facilitating ideation with cross-functional teams
Collaborating with senior stakeholders to develop activities for gathering insights
Coaching others in selecting and applying research methodologies and insights frameworks
Leading the team in using data to establish key metrics for projects and inform research strategy
Focusing the team on priority problems from the customer's point of view
Identifying risks to users and ensuring a solid understanding of customer use cases
Collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure user findings are fed into the design and engineering process.
Partnering with Marketing, Strategy, and Customer Insight to identify convergent opportunities
Ensuring recruiting activities are compliant and providing adequate training for the team
Assisting in vendor management for the team
Overseeing the curation of research best practices for meaningful impact
Instilling a culture of learning within the team
Requirements: Have experience in a wide range of User Research methods like JTBD, Interview, Survey, etc.
Be capable of leading constructive reviews with team members for research study design and script writing
Be able to recommend appropriate sample sizes suitable for the research method
Be capable of independently practicing basic qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques
Be able to co-lead problem exploration with stakeholders
Have competence in identifying research strategies for solutions
Can create new frameworks that solicit meaningful insights within multiple product contexts
Be competent in managing PII compliantly and proficiently using research software
