The Digital Customer Experience Team is looking for a Lead UX/UI Designer for the DCF.
The Lead UX/UI Designer leads a team of UX/UI designers that work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team on the design, development and implementation of digital services that achieve business outcomes and improve business efficiencies and processes.
The role is user-centric and requires solid user-centred design values, principles, and practices, strong business analytics skills, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement and management skills, and a master at juggling multiple projects and priorities.
Key Responsibilities
The Lead UX/UI Designer will have the following responsibilities:
Design and deliver optimised customer outcomes through new digital capabilities utilising Digital. NSW design system.Drive the ongoing development of a human-centred customer service and knowledge culture across the programs or projects, supported by effective policy and process frameworks and proactive customer service systems to embed best practice customer-centric behaviours.Provide team leadership expertise, mentoring and best practice guidance for programs or projects.Manage product design through discovery, framing and iterative development and continuous improvement within a Human-Centered Design (HCD) framework.Develop viable and sustainable solutions within technical constraints and brand guidelines that align customer needs and business requirements.Stay up-to-date with the best user research practices, including User Interaction (UI), accessibility guidelines, and visual design practices.Lead and manage the planning and delivery of critical and often complex work packages and provide oversight as a project manager to meet business requirements and the needs of customers.Collaborate with technical teams to ensure approved digital user experience design assets are implemented or followed with guided design principles and ensuring quality is maintained.Experience in UI, visual design and UX, and delivery of complex digital product and content solutions.Experience and examples of working in collaborative, cross-functional teams, including developers and Product Managers.Support usability, accessibility and user acceptance testing of digital services to ensure we provide users with a great experience while ensuring all requirements and guidelines are met.Stay up to date with the best user research practices, including User Interaction (UI), accessibility guidelines, and visual design practices.Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, managing multiple priorities within tight time frames. Skills and Experience Required
The Lead UX/UI Designer will have the following abilities, skills, and experience:
Mandatory: Over 10 years of experience in development and delivery of UX/UI solutions.Advanced skills in industry-leading software and technologies, such as Adobe Photoshop, Figma, inVision, Jira, Confluence, Trello, Google suite.Ability to understand analytics data to make data driven decisions as well as an ability to understand and design for personas.Experience working in agile and lean environments.Experience in digital design including website design, development, and maintenance/user interfaces as well as an understanding of the foundations of front-end web development.Experience in delivering small to large UI projects from websites to apps.Good to have knowledge on Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, and XML.Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret business requirements and technical concepts.
