About the Opportunity We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Technical Officer - Equipment to join our team at the Nuclear Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY) in Osborne, South Australia.
In this role, you will collaborate with the Operations Team and other end-users to develop and procure the necessary equipment and tooling for building the SSN AUKUS submarines.
Your expertise will ensure that all equipment meets the required specifications and is integrated seamlessly into the facility.
This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia.
Responsibilities Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of commercially available equipment and tooling.
Research market options and develop performance specifications for equipment.
Collaborate with procurement teams to deliver equipment and tooling.
Integrate fixed equipment and major tooling into facility layout drawings.
Ensure technical decisions are safe, practical, and compliant with Australian regulations.
Contribute to safety risk assessments and compliance checks.
Lead procurement activities for both fixed and portable equipment.
About you Diploma or Trade Certificate in a relevant discipline, or equivalent manufacturing/production experience.
4+ years of experience working with equipment and tooling in the industrial manufacturing industry.
Ability to hold and maintain an Australian NEGATIVE VETTING Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance.
Intermediate MS Office skills.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Effective time management, planning, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
Teamwork and experience working in multidisciplinary teams.

Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level.
Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
