The Lead Technical Director, Communications and Engagement is a new national role reporting to the Director of Ecology, Environmental Approvals and Engagement.
Your role will combine technical leadership, project delivery and work winning. You'll have an established or emerging profile and reputation for excellence in communications and engagement practice, which lends clients confidence and bolsters your business development abilities.
This role can be based in Sydney, Newcastle or Melbourne with the option to work from home up to two days per week for a healthy work-life balance.
Day to day, you will:
Provide overarching review and technical input to projects, lessons learned, develop tools and best practices in line with client and project needs Drive technical direction and delivery of key pursuits and projects nationally Mentor and develop the technical capability of a team of junior to principal level Engagement consultants Provide strategic stakeholder engagement and community engagement advice to clients Contribute to leadership decisions, to assist with delivery of our strong and growing pipeline of work Identify new opportunities, contribute to project pursuits, and review proposal writing to win work About You
You'll have 15+ years' experience as a communications and engagement professional, including in leadership positions.
Previous consulting experience is required.
Experience in the delivery of major infrastructure projects, the public sector, or a Minister's office, will also be advantageous.
You will also bring:
Market eminence and positive client experience endorsement in one of our key sectors: transport infrastructure, renewable energy, transmission, Defence, or mining, ideally for State Significant Development Significant experience in providing strategic advice to clients, and mentoring project teams to deliver high quality outputs Thought leadership with a skill for applying insights to industry trends, solving current problems, and shaping strategy An ability to engage and influence senior leaders in the not-for-profit, government, and private sectors A thorough understanding of government processes Formal tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism, or social sustainability, certified IAP2 Practitioner.
