Lead Security Engineer

Up to $170k plus super , WFH/Hybrid, 9 additional leave and excellent flexibility
Talenza have been engaged by an Australian fund manager to source an experienced Lead Security Engineer to work with the organisation as they embark on an enterprise transformation program including organisation in the maturing their security posture. This person will act as the most senior technical security person in the organisation.
The Company
The company are already some ways along in improving their security posture, but this newly created will implement the controls aligned to NIST frameworks and ISO 27001.
The Role
This suits someone with a strong network engineering and firewall experience who wants to work more on security technologies. Core networking skills in routing and switching are a firm requirement along with firewalling skills - from a vendor perspective could be anyone from Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Checkpoint etc.
Responsibilities:
Azure Security Management: Design, implement, and manage security solutions within our Azure environment.
Web Application Firewall (WAF) Deployment: Configure and maintain WAF to protect our web applications from cyber threats.
Firewall Configuration and Management : Ensure robust security by managing and optimizing firewall settings.
Vulnerability Management : Utilize Fortinet and Rapid7 tools to identify, assess, and mitigate vulnerabilities.
DevOps Collaboration: Work closely with our DevOps team to integrate security practices into our continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
Qualifications:
Proven experience in security engineering, particularly within an Azure environment
Hands-on experience with WAF, firewalls, Fortinet, and Rapid7
Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
9 additional leave days
Perm Role up to $170k base plus super
2 - 3 days in the office (WFH / "work from home")
