The Role As the Lead Quality Engineer, you will execute testing processes (creation, execution, defect identification and tracking) to ensure quality.
Your role partners with business stakeholders to provide test expertise to ensure a high standard of testing and quality assurance for all projects, solutions and changes delivered.
In addition, you will provide inputs to release planning and dependencies, while working with relevant stakeholders.
What YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE Collaborate with the Technology team and business stakeholders to define comprehensive test suites, plans, and schedules for functional testing.Execute necessary duties for testing technology changes.Develop and maintain reusable regression and automation assets.Oversee all testing activities for the technology teams.Analyze requirements and define a robust testing approach to ensure thorough validation.Design and implement test cases for non-functional testing to validate requirements across applications.Create and execute functional, non-functional, business acceptance, and regression test cases using appropriate test management tools.Manage and triage defects effectively using test management tools.Provide timely reporting on test preparation and execution metrics, including test case preparation status, execution status, and defect status for non-functional testing.Support the Technology team in defining base loads for testing, providing estimates, and identifying key issues/risks.Contribute to the continual improvement of testing processes by developing test methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality, focusing on the test knowledge-base for generic test scripts.Develop, execute, and maintain suites of test scripts for regression, functional, and non-functional testing.Plan, execute, and implement peak period test approaches (functional and non-functional) in close collaboration with the business to ensure stability and performance.Ensure quality measures are represented in the change control process and manage test environment setup and test data management processes.What YOU'LL NEED TO THRIVE A strong background and experience in similar roles.Experience working within similar corporate / retail environments, partnering with Technology team and the business to achieve business outcomes and optimise customer / end user experience.Tertiary qualified or equivalent industry experience.ISTQB or Agile Test Certification (foundation level or above) highly desired.Experience spanning various methodologies (e.g SDLC, Waterfall, Agile).Experience on Oracle, DB2, UNIX and web platforms.Proven experience in SDLC and Testing methodologies.Proven experience in functional testing and test management.Strong understanding of monitoring tools and strong reporting and analytical skills to help triage and identify bottlenecks.Strong documentation and communication skills, ability to convey complex technical and business requirements.Why work for us?
