Role Overview:The Lead Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the water infrastructure upgrade, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring close coordination with internal teams, contractors, stakeholders, and local authorities. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of a project that will have a significant impact on the regional water infrastructure and its long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the water infrastructure upgrade project, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets.Manage the day-to-day operations of the project, including resource allocation, risk management, and quality control.Oversee the coordination and management of project teams, contractors, engineers, and subcontractors.Develop and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.Monitor and report on project progress, identifying potential risks or delays and implementing corrective actions as needed.Ensure compliance with all local regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.Communicate regularly with key stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, and senior management, to keep them informed of project status and key developments.Maintain strong relationships with external partners, ensuring collaboration and effective problem-solving throughout the project life cycle.Lead project meetings, providing direction and support to teams and contractors, ensuring effective decision-making and execution.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).5+ years of experience in project management within the water industry (Desirable), including significant experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects.Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders effectively.Expertise in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions in challenging environments.Experience in managing projects in regional or remote locations is an asset.This is such an exciting opportunity for the right person to improve water infrastructure for the Bendigo region for years to come!
