Full-time 6-month term vacancy, with a possibility for extension Salary packaging + EAP support for you and your family + 11.5% Superannuation Provide support on critical and highly complex case management issues The Department for Child Protection is seeking a Lead Practitioner to join the Quality and Practice team on a full-time term basis.
The role will be responsible for:
Leading and contributing to departmental practice, policies and development programs through constructive analysis and proactive recommendations in regard to both agency and operational and legislative adaption.Planning and leading quality assurance process across DCP to evaluate services provided to clients and the community of DCP, including the Aboriginal communities.Driving high professional standards, taking a systems improvement and clinical governance approach to strengthening outcomes for children and young people.Providing clinical leadership of Psychological Services, and leading Court Services and Liaison.Working closely with the Practice Development team to develop and provide training to improve DCP staff skills.About You We are looking for a confident individual who has extensive experience in working directly with children and families, where issues of child safety and protection, child development, family functioning formed a central component.
To be successful you will be able to embed clinical governance and have a strong ability to implement improved strategies and service standards.
Our ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to influence, create trust and negotiate with key stakeholders.
You will also have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Children and Young Person (Safety) Act 2017 and other relevant legislations.

Special ConditionsEssential Qualifications: An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification in either Social Work, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or Developmental Education which entitles registration or membership with the relevant board or association.
All requirements to maintain registration or membership must be fulfilled.
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
