Flynns Beach Medical Centre is a highly regarded Practice in beautiful Port Macquarie. We are committed to delivering excellence in patient care and are seeking an experienced Lead Nurse who is looking for a challenging and varied role.
Reporting to our Business Manager and supported clinically by our GP Director, you will be responsible for all aspects of the smooth running of our nursing service across two sites providing the full range of general practice patient care, as well as GP specialist services in skin and women's health.
The Lead Nurse role is integral to our leadership team and contributes to the strategic direction, sustainability, and day-to-day operations of our busy Practice, responding as appropriate to the changes inherent in the delivery of Primary Care.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Contribution to the Practice leadership team including a commitment to ensuring high quality care, managing strategic change and supporting Practice sustainability.
Nurturing & building your team to deliver quality patient care/clinical excellence.
Human resource management including rosters, leave, recruitment, training, and management of staff.
Oversight of programs such as CVC and Pre-employment screening.
Implementation of a Chronic Disease Management program to support patient care and reduce the administrative burden on GPs.
Stock control and ordering within budget.
Cold Chain Management including Vaccine storage and ordering.
Assisting the Practice Accreditation Process as required.
Contribution to risk management and quality improvement processes.
Driving a positive and cohesive culture to ensure performance, efficiency, and adherence to policies across the team.
Your skills and experience:
Current RN registration with AHPRA.
Commitment to high standards of patient care/clinical excellence.
Flexibility and a positive approach to change.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively with the Business Manager, Practice Principals, and other key staff.
Previous experience leading and supervising nursing staff.
Experience providing nursing care in a General Practice setting.
Experience in program coordination/oversight eg CVC, CDM.
Immunisation Accreditation Certificate.
Women's Health Certificate.
Current CPR Certificate.
